When you believe in yourself, incredible things can happen. When you have faith in yourself, amazing things can occur. Self-belief is not a quality given to all of us. Sometimes, we need a little help from someone we don’t know to get where we want.
Self-belief is a state of mind that supplements positive thinking. It is the key to unlocking our potential, coming from where we are now and arriving somewhere we have never been before.
Life is full of challenges, and that’s why it gives us great moments. People’s beliefs and mentality are different, but the one thing I’ve learned about life is that the good things come the hard way.
Dreams are what guide you through life. I would venture a guess that every single one of us at some point in our lives has had a dream we wanted to fulfill, and if you are reading this, it’s probably something you want to do right now.
However, I’ve learned that dreams take time and perseverance. Sometimes the biggest challenge you face is finding the way back to sticking with them. The only thing that keeps you on track to pursue your dreams is faith. Faith in yourself, faith in the process, and most importantly, faith in your ability to handle any obstacles that stand in your way.
Every time I achieve something important in my life, I am always reminded of how hard I worked on it. It makes me feel happy when I think about all the sleepless nights and early mornings that I spent to make it happen.
“Life’s short. If you don’t look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Jack Kerouac.

How to succeed in life and believe in yourself
1. Go after your dreams even if others don't think it's possible
Many successful people have something in common — they pursue their dreams without worrying about what others think. Yes, it can be scary to do things that others wouldn’t approve of, but believe in yourself. It could mean stepping away from a steady job, swapping college for another field, or walking away from a relationship no longer fulfilling you. Remember that it’s never easy to make big changes, so take one step at a time.
2. Don't let rejection stop you
Rejection is a part of life. We all get rejected at some point. But rejection doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get what you want, even if it takes longer than expected. For instance, you could get rejected when you go on a date, and it didn’t go the way you wanted. It’s inevitable to think it will seem harder to find a job when your CV gets rejected by 20 employers. Rejection doesn’t have to be an end. It would be best to fight for what you want instead of letting rejection hold you back.
3. Learn from your mistakes and do better next time
Mistakes happen to the best of us. Sometimes, we can’t avoid them. However, we can learn from our mistakes with a bit of self-evaluation and reflection. You need to reflect on what went wrong and what you could have done differently to achieve your desired outcome.
A saying goes, “You can’t make the same mistake twice because the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake — it’s a choice.” The second time around, you know what you are doing, which is why it isn’t really a mistake – if you know what you are doing, then it is a conscious decision made with the best intentions.
4. Do what makes you happy
It is not always easy to find happiness. There are too many distractions in our lives that keep us from the things we want. These distractions can be anything like your children, your job, or the internet. There can be many things that pull you away from what you really want to do. However, when you find something that makes you happy, do it. Do not let anything stop you from living a happy life, just believe in yourself.
5. You are not alone, but this is your journey.
Sometimes it’s hard to ask for help, especially when you already feel like you are overburdened with work. But it can be hard to let go of our pride and admit that we need extra help. We all have biases towards working alone, but accepting and asking for help is the best decision we can make once in a while.
If you reflect on your failures and think about the times you had no confidence in yourself, ask yourself this—what was that moment of inspiration that pulled you through that failure? Or the time when you believed in yourself through those difficult times. There will always be a moment of confidence—whether it’s a success or a failure when you look back and realize how far you had come and how strong your confidence in yourself was. Your dreams are important, and you know it. There is nothing you cannot accomplish if you believe in yourself and persist through adversity.
